Organizing Families and Children Kathy Wadditi In some ways, organizing a family with children is like organizing a small business, that needs personnel, inventory, tools, policies, and procedures in order to function smoothly. In other ways, it is a unique challenge to keep everything going and coordinate multiple activities for every family member, as well as help the children become happy, productive members of society. If you are interested in working with families, this workshop will give you practical tools for weaving all the complicated threads of family life into a functioning whole. Part II: Organizing Bedrooms for Children and Teens Chris Dutson Understand a child's organizing needs and styles through magic tricks, discussion and inspirational stories. Attendees learn how to be the change agent in the home, to gain the trust of the child who did not initiate the organizing process, as well as how to prevent the organizing problems from recurring. Kathy Waddill has been organizing all her life, and in 1993 discovered that people were happy to hire her to share her talents with them. She started The Untangled Web in Boston, then moved it to the San Francisco area in 1997. Kathy specializes in family and small-business organization and also speaks to parent and community groups about all aspects of being organized. She is writing a book for Roxbury Park Publishing about organizing. Chris Dutson of In Balance of Fort Madison, Iowa has been a home/office organizer since 1997. She teaches organizing principles through continuing education classes, workshops, speaking engagements and local newspaper columns. With a Bachelor of Science in Education and 18 years of teaching experience, her "students" have been preschoolers through adults, including the limited English speaking.
