Domestic Violence and the Collaborative Process CD

Cases that involve coercive controlincluding emotional, physical, verbal and financial abuse present special considerations in determining appropriateness for the Collaborative process. What are the ethical issues the practitioner must consider when abuse is present in the family relationships? Are cases involving abuse ever appropriate for the Collaborative process? How do you consider the safety of the participants when conducting case evaluation and negotiation? Can the power imbalance that is inherent in the abusive partnership ever be corrected to ensure fair and equal collaboration? These and other considerations will be discussed as part of this workshop.
